Ray Martin - Head Coach
Born and raised in the Higley area, Coach Martin attended Higley Elementary and Gilbert High School. He has always been a competitive person and has always enjoyed sports. His favorite sports are football and basketball. Coach Martin played football all four years of high school and always wanted to get into coaching. Coach Martin has been coaching at WFHS since 2007. He coaches at the JV level, both linebackers and special teams. He enjoys watching the younger levels grow through their four years at WFHS.
Coach Martin enjoys fishing and traveling to the Caribbean on his off time. His pride and joy is his family which includes his wife Sarah, daughter Ashley and his three sons, Ray J, Matthew, and Max (also, cat Jane and dog Shumway). Coach Martin says that without their support, coaching would not be so enjoyable and fulfilling.
Manny Gomez - D Line
J.V. Defensive line coach, Manny Gomez, served as the strength and conditioning coach for Coach Campbell in 2009. This is his 5th year coaching at Williams Field coaching D-Line and working with all levels during the summer weightlifting program. He was a player/coach for the Tempe Devils of the AZFL in 2001 and Defensive Coordinator for Hendrix Jr. High School 1993-1995.
Coach Gomez has a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Physical Education from A.S.U. He is currently employed with the Kyrene Unified School District as an Elementary P.E. teacher. Coach Gomez has 2 children, Elizabeth (12) and Jacob “P-Nut” (7). He loves spending time with his kids, working out, training young athletes, and walking the beaches of San Diego. Coach Gomez is a huge A.S.U. fan bleeding Maroon and Gold.
Ryan Kleinman - O Line
Coach Kleinman graduated from Williams Field High School and coached for two season’s right after graduating as a Grad Assistant. Coach Kleinman then served a two year mission for his church serving in Iowa and Illinois; he is now back and happy to be coaching again. Coach Kleinman works as a paraprofessional at a private school for children with special needs called Lauren’s Institute for Education. Coach Kleinman is currently going to school to become a physical therapist.
